We often find ourselves wanting go deeper with God, but have trouble finding the space and the setting to make it happen.
Do you find yourself asking…
- How can I grow deeper in my faith?
- How does my faith connect with everyday life?
- Where is God working in the Church and the Community?
- What part do I play?
If so, then LIFEgroups are for you.
What is a LIFEgroup?
Some groups are Bible Study based, focusing on the previous Sunday’s Sermon. Their studies are aided by Bible Study Notes based on each week’s Sunday themes. Others are theme-based groups where the theme is the primary focus for meeting, through which study, prayer, friendship and outreach etc. takes place.
The following LIFEgroups are currently active in Walthamstow
Prayer House – NEW!
We meet weekly to explore topics relating to prayer, community and other spiritual disciplines, through bible-study and discussion. We are committed to supporting the work of the Prayer House as an oasis for prayer, individually and together, and a catalyst for prayer in the parish. We support Louise Wallis in her work in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. We also have socials and share meals together.
Mums’ Bible Study Group
A group of Mums with young children (under 4’s). The group provides a space for Mums and their children together, to encourage & support one another through friendship and Bible study, while little ones play.
Faith in Film
If you love film, you’ll love this LIFEgroup. We watch movies, connecting their stories with life, the universe and all, including the story of Jesus and our following of him. A group for ordinary disciples, not armchair critics!
St Luke’s Wed
This meeting is open to all of St Luke’s community. St Luke’s gets together on Wednesday evenings for a time of Bible study, prayer, physical feeding (cake), spiritual feeding and encouragement.
We meet in a relaxed way to read the Bible, discuss, pray and support one another. We like to think outside of the box!
WAGs (Wednesdays at St Gabriel’s)
We are a group that tries to live out the verse from John 10:10, talking about real issues and allowing the Lord to minister to us.
This group has a healthy mix of characters and focuses on meeting people where they are at in terms of their understanding of the Bible, which leads into open discussion and prayer.
This group aims to look at Bible passages, think about them and try to understand what they are saying to us and how best we can apply what we have learnt to our lives today.
A group of new and maturing Christians who offer fellowship, encouragement and refreshment to those seeking to explore and understand the meaning of discipleship, and what that looks like in a 21st Century context.
There is a new group currently being formed: 18+
